Sept 1st - 30th Battle of the Banks Challenge
Local banks are partnering up with Comfort Keepers to help our seniors in need by participating in a competition to see which bank and bank branch can provide the most donations to the Food Bank during the month of September. Comfort Keepers has set up drop points at the following locations: STAR Financial Bank (Lima rd, Dupont rd, Waynedale, Coliseum, St Joe rd, and Illinois rd), Grabill Bank (Grabill, Leo, New Haven, Illinois Rd, Leo rd off Dupont, and West Dupont rd), and Old National Bank (Chesnut Hills branch, the Walmart on Maysville rd, and the Walmart in Kendallville).

Sept. 10th-12th 2010 Bike Pulls ans Rodeo
Big Boar Cycles presents the 2010 Bike Pulls and Rodeo at the Mizpah Shrine Horse Grounds. There will be a twilight ride, euchre tournament, bike show, great food, and live music on saturday night. Admission is $10 at the gate. Children under 16 are free with an adult. All proceeds go to the Whitley County Council on aging.

Sept. 11th Tri-Lakes Lions Club Fish and Tenderloin Fry
The Tri-Lakes Lions Club is holding a Fish and Tenderloin Fry as a summer fund raising activity. The Fry takes place from 4pm to 7pm. Prices will be as follows: Adults-$8.50, Children 12 to 6-$4, and Children 5 and under are free. People attending the event are encouraged to bring canned food items to be donated to support a local food pantry in Columbia City. The Price includes an all you can eat dinner, beverage, and dessert. The supper will be held at the Tri-Lakes Lions hall on Colony avenue. The meal will be CHOLESTEROL FREE!!! The Proceeds will go towards the Lions District 25B projects, and other local lions projects.
Sept. 12 Divine Mercy Parish 2010 Fun-Fest
Join us for "A Devine Time" anytime between 9am and 4pm at 203 Townline St. Payne, Ohio. Home style ham and chicken dinners will be served between 11am and 3pm. carry outs will be available. adults are $8, kids 4-12 are $4, and kids 3 and under are free. There will be a concession stand, silent auction, kraft corner, games, hourly raffles, and entertainment. It will be FUN FOR ALL!!!

Light the Night Walk Come support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society who are currently recruiting for their annual Light the Night Walk. This event helps raise funds for blood cancer research. During the walk, participants carry illuminated balloons with different colors to show support for those in need. Walk with us and help commemorate lives touched by cancer. Oct. 9th Mustard Seed Furniture Bank
The Mustard Seed Furniture Bank is hosting their Seventh Annual Charity Auction being held on October 9th at the Exposition Center in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum starting at 5:30 p.m. The theme of the event is Welcome Home! The Mustard Seed steps in to provide items such as kitchen tables, chairs, couches, and beds to those who do not have the means to purchase them. Tickets are $65 a person. Oct. 9th Demolition Derby
At the Wabash Co. Fairgrounds there will be a Demolition Derby to benefit the Johnson family. The Grandstands will open at 5pm and door prizes will start to be given away at 6pm. There will be a drivers meeting at 7pm and the Derby will start at 7:30pm. General admission is $5 and children 5 and under are free. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Oct. 15th "Stomp Out the Hunder" Dance
The Times Corner Lions Club is providing their reception hall at Elegant Occasions (14722 Lima rd in Fort Wayne) for a dance that starts at 7pm and lasts untill 11pm. Pam and Eagle Lindsey, owners of Dancin' Feats Dance Instrubtion/DJ Services will be provding the music for the dance. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at Elegant Occasions, at the Comfort Keepers office at 3970 New Vision Drive off Dupont rd, or the tickets can be delivered to you (call 260-484-5858 and ask for Patti). All proceeds from the dance and silent auction that will be at the dance will benefit the Community Harvest Food Bank.
